TBA Family & Friends Exclusive Event
Good Sense: Wine & The Five Senses
Friday, July 25th, 2-3pm
Join certified Sommelier, Certified Wine Educator and owner of Re:Rooted 210 Jen Beckmann, for a unique and experimental approach to ‘flavor’. Explore how each of your senses impact your ability to taste wine with hands-on sensory experiments. This brain bending format will change the way you interpret touch, sight, smell and audio while deciphering ‘taste’.
We’ll be tasting 5 award winning wines produced by Re:Rooted 210 Urban Winery using 100% Texas grown fruit while engaging each of our senses:
- Touch: Experimental tactile feel & taste with fabric swatches
- Sight: How do specific color saturations affect your perception from sweet to sour?
- Audio: Will listening to varied genres of music create a change on your palate? Does tonality impact your ability to 'feel' on the palate?
- Smell: How does the olfactory influence flavor, does this trick your perception?
- Mental Imaging: Can visualization affect your ability to identify flavor? A little bit of ‘Brain Yoga’
